PANIK ist da…

So, letzter Eintrag von zu Hause!
Nachdem ich jetzt endlich realisiert habe, wohin ich morgen fliegen werde, breitet sich doch etwas Panik aus. Zudem habe ich folgende nette Mail mit tollen Ratschlägen für unser Projekt bekommen!! Genau das will man 24h vor der Reise lesen! Rucksack ist gepackt – ALLES erledigt – jetzt gehts auf nach A F R I K A!!!

Hi everybody,
i just wanted to drop a few thoughts towards our preperation :

1.i would advise since we r not yet sure where exactly we will b shooting and how our accomodation will look like, that everybody puts a mosquito net into his lagguage…( good ones can also b bought in Accra )

2.Pls remember to have your hepatitis A, B injections done…aswell as Yellowfever
( at least find out wheater its still required in Ghana )

3. We all should have water bottles on us, since i guess we dont want to b dring Cocoa Cola drinks in the villages and i wont recommend to drink the tape water, without boiling it……running stomach ties you to the bed 4 a couple of days 4 sure….

4.pls do aslo not 4get to include anything against running stomach.

5.Foodstuff is xtremly cheap and tasty in Ghana ( 🙂 !!! ) but unfortunately also a big problem 4 the stomachs of most of us…..we should really try not to buy food on the roadsides ( aside fresh fruits ) , but rather only eat from our own Kitchen…..peal it…boil it or 4get it….

5. Malaria tablets are far Cheaper in Ghana and give you the same endresult
( Artesunate is available in most pharmacies )…..i would advise not to bring anything against maleria alongside ( aside long T-shirts and trousers )……

5.A good pair of shoes wouldnt b bad aswell….if it rains in the Afram Plains it becomes really muddy….

6.The Ghanian mentality is a typical African one…..i am coimg right now…or i am almost there …means in most cases , that the person is far away from showing up……
It is unpolity to use your left hand to eat or great somebody

7.Please b aware of thieves !!!! Since we are Whities , we outomatically stand out and r exspecially with all the expensive equipment a huge attraction…….and where theres poverty , thieves are unfortunately not far…….
I dont mean to scare anyone…but really beg everybody not to show smartphones etc etc in puplic when its not really nessesary…..if have witnessed at lot of robbery b4.

8.It is really smart of us , if we all try to bring little gifts along for local crew, friends etc……it doesnt need to big a big thing…but since we dont pay a salery , its just good to show some love and gratefulness towards all…and that works best
( exspecially in the villages ) with material gifts.
We MUST buy an alcoholic Drink for the chief in the Village where we shoot….its a custom and a sign of respect towards him……..

9.many Ghanaians like to make “ foreign Friends “ just to take them 4 a ride and life , party with them 4 a couple of days etc…..pls watch out …..
